The Opel Calibra was produced between 1989 and 1997 and was sold under different nameplates all over the world: Vauxhall Calibra in the UK, Chevrolet Calibra in South America and Holden Calibra in Australia and New Zealand.
The coupe was available with a front-wheel-drive system when it was first launched and later it became available with a 4-wheel-drive system.

The unique exterior look was designed by WayneCherry (a GM designer) and Erhard Schnell.

The Calibra was known as being the most aerodynamic car produced at the time, with a low drag coefficient of only 0.26. The Calibra remained the most aerodynamic car for 10 years since its launch.

Based on the Vectra A platform, the Calibra was given a stiffer chassis.

The 1989 Calibra ran on a 2.0-liter engine with 115 hp or a 2.0-liter powerplant that developed 150 hp.

The Calibra could accommodate up to 4 passengers and offered lots of space for a coupe.

The front seats easy easily adjustable and the best driving position was easy to achieve.

The trunk of the Calibra was a decent size and its shape made it easier to store items. However, due to its high position, heavier items were a little harder to load.

A sunroof was also available and gave the cabin a more airy feeling.
