The first model designed under the patronage of Volkswagen, Toledo is a 5-door liftback first unveiled in 1991 and still in production this year.
The first generation of SEAT Toledo was entirely based on the Volkswagen A2 platform, similar to Volkswagen Corrado and Jetta and even shared some parts with these vehicles. These models could be found in multiple engine configurations, starting with a 1.6-liter gasoline-powered and ending with a 2.0-liter 16V which developed 150 horsepower. The first generation was kept in production until 1998 when the parent company rolled out the upgraded models, but it also received a facelift in 1995.
