Skoda’s flagship model, the Superb, received a “Scout” version in 2019.
It was applied, as usual, on the station wagon variant, which is something new for the Czech manufacturer.
It is not marketed as an off-road vehicle, but more like a crossover with a touch of luxury. It is the car for those who want to go to their lodge in the middle of a forest and they need supplies for a week or two, thanks to the huge trunk space of up to 1950 liters (68.8 cu-ft) with the rear seats folded down.
For the Superb Scout, the manufacturer installed only the most powerful engines it has on the platform: a 2.0-liter turbodiesel with 190 hp and a 2.0-liter turbo-gasoline with 272 hp. Also, the only gearbox available is a 7-speed DSG (double-clutch gearbox).
The ground clearance for the Skoda Superb Scout is higher than the regular version by 15 mm (0.6 in).
The interior is fit for five adults plus their luggage. The trunk space with the rear bench in place is 660l (23.3 cu-ft). On top of the car, there are roof-rails where an additional roof storage system may be placed for extra luggage room. For a pleasant trip, the vehicle is equipped with an infotainment system compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
