Two years after the launch of a second generation M3 model in 1994, BMW extended its model range with the introduction of a 2-door convertible version.
The new M3 Cabrio appeared at the same time with the 4-door saloon model and was fitted with a 3.0L 6-cylinder inline engine delivering 286 hp and 236 lb-ft of torque. Later on, in 1996, this model received an engine update and benefited from a brand new 3.2L inline-6 unit delivering 321 hp and improving car’s 0-60 mph sprint by half-of-second. This model was discontinued in 1999, being the last of the M3 versions to cease production.
