BUICK Rainier
2003
2007
The Buick Rainier was launched by GM in 2003 and was designed as a mid-size SUV for the North American market.
It featured rear-wheel-drive (like the former Roadmaster model), while all-wheel-drive was also optional. This car very much resembled the Oldsmobile Bravada in terms of body style, while added some of Buick’s classic lines (redesigned fascia). It was the first GM truck to be traded as a ‘Buick’ model in more than 80 years and was discontinued only 4 years later, in 2007. It was replaced on the crossover SUV sector by the Lambda platform-based Enclave model.
