The South American continent is a good market for General Motors.
Its Chevrolet brand is well perceived and has a good image there. That said, it has to sell affordable vehicles. This is the situation for the Chevrolet Agile. But GM’s image was not built on the Agile, a small car with a bigger car’s headlights and not enough engine choices.

The model is based on the Opel Corsa D platform but has different engines. It is powered by a 1.4-liter unit either with gasoline or flex-fuel. Flex-fuel is typical for some countries where ethanol is used instead of gasoline.

The 4.0-meter (13.1 ft) long car has 5 seats inside but, as expected, those in the rear are very cramped even for one adult. Its 2.5-meter (100 inches) long wheelbase just doesn’t feel right for a five-seat vehicle. It is, mainly, a city vehicle. It doesn’t have ABS and it has received a marvelous “totally unsafe” rating by the LatinNCAP after it’s been crash tested. It obtained zero stars for the adult passengers and two stars for children.

There are three trim levels: LS, LT and LTZ, but the LS is not available in all the markets. The standard wheels were steel and only the LTZ could be equipped with light-alloy wheels.
