Citroen has a long history of producing strange vehicles.
Some of them were tops, other went down the drain. But they didn’t want to produce boring cars. Yet, sometimes, they did. But not the 2014 C4 Cactus.

Despite its explosive name, the C4 is a cross-over vehicle that featured some interesting ideas for the vehicles used in the city. On the front fascia, the headlights are well protected into the bumpers. On top of them are the DRLs. This design helped protect the glass from breaking in the event of a small push or crash in the city. On the side, there was a belt of plastic named “Aitbump” that prevent those ugly scratches in the parking lot. Especially from shopping carts. The same idea of protection was in the rear of the vehicle with high-mounted taillights.

Inside though, the plastic doesn’t look so good but looks very spacious. An innovation brought by C4 Cactus was the roof-mounted airbag for the passenger next to the driver. In the dashboard, where the airbag is usually found, there was the glove-compartment that opened upright, instead of forward. In the rear, there was enough room for three passengers.

The instrument cluster was a TFT display that could show various information. On top of the center console, there was the infotainment unit display that featured screen-mirroring for mobile phones. It also had the controls for various systems, including the HVAC.
