Often criticized for unreliability, Citroen ZX received its first facelift in 1994 when parent company upgraded both the interior and the exterior of the car.
While the exterior styling improvements are pretty obvious (reshaped grille, restyled headlights and new front bumper), the interior enhanced with very important parts, such as driver airbag and keypad immobilizer unavailable on the first generation ZX. More importantly, ABS became standard on top models. ZX production was ceased in 1998 when Citroen decided to replace the whole range with the newly-designed Xsara.
