The last facelift for the three-door version of the Citroen ZX came a bit late to put the model back on the map in 1996.
The sales loss to it German counterparts was irrecuperable thus it was discontinued a year later. The model’s spec was quite good, with most models featuring power steering, electric windows, electric sunroof, airbag and ABS. The engine was pushes as far back as it could to put the weight behind the front axle, while the rear suspension used PSA’s fully independent trailing arm/torsion bar setup along with passive rear wheel steering and in-house made shocks.
