Ford introduced the second generation compact SUV Escape at the 2007 Los Angeles International Auto Show.
Although the car was built on Ford’s previous Escape model platform, the CD2, the 2008 model received a complete makeover. The interior was completely redesigned, while the exterior received larger headlights, a new front grille, more pronounced wheel arches and revised rear fascia. The 2008 Ford Escape premiered soft fabric seating materials made from 100 percent recycled material. Ford’s compact SUV also received standard side curtain air bags and electronic stability control with RSC (Roll Stability Control).
