In 2015 Ford unveiled an all-new F-150 Raptor to top their truck lineup as a high-performance pickup, saying they reengineered every bit of it to create the toughest, smartest, most capable off-roader ever.
The exterior styling screams “menacing” with it’s bold shapes, huge “FORD” labeled grille, stacked LED headlights, a massive bash plate as well as big off-road tires guarded by plastic-mold reinforced wheel arches. Inside, the ingredients are somewhat the same but are more oriented towards comfort and convenience. Strong manly shapes are to be found everywhere you look starting with the dashboard and ending with the door cards while finer materials are used throughout the whole cabin and new technology has been fitted. Mechanically, the new Raptor starts with a purpose-built frame, which is also the strongest in the whole lineup thanks to high-strength steel. The same material helps shave 500 lb of weight. The truck rides on FOX Racing Shox shock absorbers, new engines, new transfer case as well as a recalibrated powertrain with multiple preset modes.
