FORD Galaxy 2000 - 2006

Generation Information

Body style: None

Segment: None

The first Ford Galaxy was released in 1995 and has been a top seller ever since.
In comparison to other cars in the same segment, the Galaxy has sold better than the Seat Alhambra or the Volkswagen Sharan, its platform brothers. In 2000, Ford released the facelifted version of the Galaxy. The interior was refreshed, the exterior design brought a sharper nose and the diesel 1.9-liter engine was boosted to 115 hp. In 2000, Ford introduced ABS on all of the Galaxy versions.

The most notable engine available on the Galaxy was the 2.8-liter 24 valves V6 engine, producing 206 CP. Other available engines were 1.9-liter diesel with 90 hp, 115 hp or 150 hp. The torque was remarkable and the fuel consumption was reduced. The engines were paired with either a 6-speed manual or a Select-Shift automatic transmission.

A new Electronic Stability Program system was added as a standard feature for the V6 engine, and for the 115 hp engine as well. While the car looks more like a people carrier, it was one of the sportiest MPVs on the market, even with its tall profile. The standard equipment included 7 seats and the interior space was huge. All 5 rear seats could be folded and the load area would have an immense capacity.
