MERCEDES BENZ CLA 45
Generations Timeline, Specs and Pictures
The 2013 CLA 45 AMG is just the touch of the premium compact class needed.
The CLA already conquer the nickname of “baby-CLS” and, judging by the look, it is right. The 4-door coupe line is there, a little spoiler on the trunk and a splitter underneath the rear bumper are matching the requirements for an AMG vehicle.
The big 18” light-alloy wheels are revealing the 360 mm brake discs at the front and the 350 mm discs on the rear, with red calipers. That touch of sportiness is not only for display since the car’s performance requires such a braking system. As an option, 19” wheels painted in titanium gray with high-sheen finish or in matte black with high-sheen rim flange.
Inside, the instrument cluster looks like it was borrowed from the CLS AMG, with chrome rings and carbon-fiber background. The infotainment system has the same screen mounted on top of the dashboard. And lots of people hate it.
For the AMG version, the vehicle is fitted with a different ESP system, that allows different settings: normal, SPORT-handling and ESP-OFF. On the SPORT-handling, the vehicle will act more like a rear-wheel-drive. On the “OFF” setting, the system will react only if the driver presses the brake pedal, and disengage back when the brake pedal is released.
