The Micra saw a facelift in 2000 that brought forth few visual adjustments and more internal changes.
the 1.3 L petrol unit was dropped in favor of a larger 1.4 L engine that was overall balanced but had the same power output as the previous. The small 1.0 Liter and the 1.5 L Diesel also received minor upgrades aimed at improving fuel efficiency and reliability. Equipment levels were raised and renamed with the base trim having been renamed as “Trend”. “Comfort” was a mid-level trim while the GL was replaced with the much more obvious, “Luxury” label.
