Aiming at gaining popularity with a different segment of customers, the Kadett was trimmed into a 3-compartment sedan version that was also marketed overseas as the Vauxhall Belmont (UK) and Opel Monza (South Africa).
Equipment levels were kept the same and so were engine configurations with four petrol and two Diesel power units. The 112 hp 1.8 L gasoline-fueled GT is widely regarded as a special model due to increased torque and power, being the priciest of the sedan range. Unlike the petrol based versions, Diesels were only available with 5-step manual transmission.
