The mid 50’s launched Rekord was a hugely successful family car.
By 1977, it had already been built in several versions. The E, as models made between 1977 and 1982 are commonly referred to, was a very generous car in terms of passenger comfort and cargo volume. Easily accommodating up to 5 passengers, the large vehicle also boasted some 31 cubic feet of boot. Caravans came with a narrow choice of engines comprised of two petrol and one diesel unit. Power output ranged from 65 hp, for the 2.3 L Diesel to 110 hp for the 2.0 l S Gasoline Deluxe trim. All engines were coupled with a 5-speed automatic transmission.
