The 1992 version received some minor outer body adjustments as well as some new engine additions and equipment levels.
The power plant family was broadened with the introduction of a new 2.5 L fuel-injection V6 unit available both with the older CD and newer CDX trims. The 6 cylinder engine had a power output of 170 Hp and was capable of 227 Nm of max torque. However, optimum pulling power was only achieved in higher revs, having been practically useless in city driving conditions. Despite this small setback, the newer engine could propel the car to a top speed of 145 mph and go from 0 to 62 in just below 8 seconds.
