The 2009 Peugeot 5008 was a family MPV built like a car and it wasn’t an LCV vehicle with seats inside, like the Peugeot Partner or the Renault Kangoo.
It was a 7-seat cruiser.

While most of the MPV market fell, some car-makers just didn’t want to give up. Since the Peugeot-Citroen already had a good platform to build such a vehicle, they launched the 5008 and C4 Grand Picasso in 2009. Both of them were aerodynamically shaped vehicle, that could carry up to seven people inside for a long journey.

From the outside, the raked hood was extended with a big windshield. The big window area from the sides made the greenhouse look like a glass-house. The front, triangular, headlights extended toward the A-pillars were part of the brand’s design language. In the back, a small and short bump over the beltline made the connection with the taillights, in a good design touch that looked good on the car.

Inside, there was a high-mounted dashboard, which offered enough legroom under it. The curved shape and the gear-stick position led to a driving position similar to a truck rather than a car. In the middle row, the absence of a transmission tunnel and the flat floor made the place comfortable for three adult passengers. Each seat from the middle row could slide and tilt. The last two seats in the trunk area didn’t offer too much headroom, but they were large enough for children.

The car was offered with six engine choices, both gasoline or diesel with power ranged between 110 and 163 hp. It was fitted as standard with a 5- or 6-speed manual, and an automatic or an automated gearbox was available.
