Pontiac Torrent is a SUV manufactured by the American company Pontiac since 2005 when it replaced the Aztek, a separate SUV produced between 2001 and 2005.
Assembled in Ingersoll, Ontario, the Torrent saw daylight in 2005 at the Los Angeles Auto Show, reaching the final market during the same year. The car is built on the General Motors Theta, similar to Saturn Vue, Daewoo Winstorm, Opel Antara and Chevrolet Equinox. The 2005 Torrent came with a choice of two engines, a 3.4- and a 3.6-liter, capable of producing a maximum power of 185 and 265 horsepower respectively.
