Introduced in 2009, the Proton Exora became Malaysia’s first home-grown MPV.
The vehicle received a mild facelift in 2012, when the Exora started being marketed as the Exora Bold and the Exora Prime. While exterior changes are barely noticeable apart from the new front bumper, the interior was redesigned to attract a younger crowd. Proton also added a turbocharged engine, making the Exora the first Malaysian car to features such a unit. The facelifted Exora was launched with two 1.6-liter engine choices - developing 125 HP and 140 HP respectively - and three transmission options - four-speed automatic, five-speed manual and CVT.
