Successor of Renault 15 and Renault 17, Renault Fuego is a 3-door hatchback manufactured by the French carmaker between 1980 and 1985.
In the United Kingdom, the Fuego was especially supposed to compete with Opel Manta and Ford Capri, recording pretty high sales in the first years of availability. However, Renault sold the Fuego in the United States with the help of American Motors between 1982 and 1985, all these models being slightly modified in order to comply with the local regulations. It was available in multiple engine configurations, ranging between 1.4- and 2.2-liter.
