Member of the second generation Renault Laguna started by the hatchback version in 2000, the Estate has almost the same improvements as the base model of the car.
But more important, the new Laguna excels in safety, a fact also underlined by the 5-star rating achieved at the EuroNCAP crash tests. In fact, the 2001 Laguna is the first European car which gained such a high rating. Beside the safety equipment, the new Laguna also came with a keyless system which allowed the driver to unlock the doors and to start the engine without the need for a key, similar to a couple of other Renault models launched at that time.
