Debuted in 1997 and available in two body styles, a 5-door liftback and a station wagon, Skoda Octavia was equipped with multiple engines provided by Volkswagen.
In fact, the 1997 Skoda Octavia was entirely based on the A4 platform, similar to VW Bora, VW New Beetle or VW Golf. Getting back to the engines, Octavia could be found in multiple engine configurations, ranging between 1.4 and 2.0 liter, powered by both gasoline and diesel. The whole range received a facelift in 2000 while the entire series was replaced in 2004 when Skoda introduced the second generation of Octavia.
