smart brought back the Electric Drive flavor for 2017, making the electric drivetrain available in more than one of its models.
The smart fortwo Electric Drive here is one of them and from the outside, it looks just as your normal combustion engine version. However, the floor holds a 17.6 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, while the rear wheels are spun by a 60 kW electric motor, just enough to make the tiny hatch even more lively than the original version. Built mainly for city use, the smart fortwo ED can go for 99 miles (110 km) on a full charge and reach a top speed of 80 mph (130 km/h) to also be useful on short highway sprints.
