This is one of the few four-door convertible vehicles built in Europe.
It was based on the Citroen Visa subcompact vehicle. It was built by the french body specialist Heuliez. It was a bold move from the small company to take a mass-produced vehicle and cut its roof off. Actually, the Visa Convertible (or Decouvrable as its French name is) was produced only for two years between 1983 and 1985. Only 2633 customers bought this bold type of vehicle.

The bodywork was, actually, a top-cabriolet. The side doors, rollover protection bar and the side panels were identical with those found in the five-door version. As expected, the canvas top was opened and closed manually and not by the flick of a switch.

For the convertible version, Heuliez and Citroen decided to only use the 1.1-liter engine, which offered 50 hp and 83 Nm (61 lb-ft) of torque, even if the Visa had more versions available. The front engine was air-cooled with four opposed cylinders, and it was mated to a four-speed manual gearbox. The vehicle was mainly available only in two colors: red or grey. For some markets it was available in brown as an option. The initial prototype had a two-door bodywork, based on the Axel, but Citroen didn’t approve that version.
