After 4 years of producing the Fiat 509, from 1925 to 1929, Fiat decided to replace the model and built the Fiat 514 Spider.
The 514 Spider was produced between 1929 and 1932.

The Fiat 509 was the first compact car ever built and it was a great success, being widely exported to foreign countries.

The 509 came in a variety of versions, a Taxi version called “514 L” and three sporty versions with elegant touches: the 514 S, 514 S MM and the 514 CA. All 514s had a rear-whee-drive system.

The power plant of the 514 was a 1438 cc 4-cylinder engine developing 28 hp. For the sportier 514 CA model, FIAT added a vacuum brake booster. Also, the CA version reached 105 km/h, while the base version only went up to 80 km/h.

The 514 S had the same 1438 cc engine, however, it developed 35 hp. The 514 S MM developed 37 hp.

Coming in different body shapes, 2 and 4-door sedans, 2-doors spider, 2-door coupe and 2 and 4-door convertible, 36970 units were produced altogether.

The 514 Spider was manufactured in Guadalajara, Spain. The factory was later destroyed during the Spanish Civil War.

The 514 Spider was later replaced by the Fiat 508 Balilla.
