With a design based on the C6 Lignage Concept presented in 1999, the production version of the Citroen C6 was supposed to appear in 2001, when the last XM rolled of the production line.
Sadly, this didn’t happen and Citroen stood without a flagship model until 2005. Compared to its German competitors, the C6 takes advantage of its fastback styling, also being the only Citroen model with a concave rear window at the time. Just like its predecessors, it has a hydro-pneumatic suspension and directional headlights (depending on trim model). Production for RHD model ended as early as May 2012 but the LHD unit lingered on until December the same year.
