After the French group PSA bought GM’s European arm, it introduced new models in the Opel/Vauxhall lineup, such as the light crossover Crossland X.
Vauxhall introduced the vehicle at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, and it was more than a re-badged Peugeot 2006. It sported more specific design signatures from the British carmaker, even though it relied on the French platform. Thanks to its different design, it was hard to tell that the two vehicles were actually related.

The design language remained the same for the Vauxhall family. Vauxhall kept its own identity with its headlights shaped like on the Insignia and the taillights that resembled those from the Insignia Sports Tourer. Even the sculptured door panels looked related to the Astra than to the 2006.

On the insight, the dashboard design was clearly on the same page as the one found in the compact Astra, with considerable attention to the infotainment unit installed on the center stack. In front of the center console, under the dashboard, Vauxhall placed a storage compartment for a mobile phone and two USB ports which the front-seats occupants could have used to connect to the infotainment system via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.

Due to its higher ground clearance, the Crossland X could cope with some rough terrain or bumped roads. It was the kind of car that could jump over the speed-bumps without hesitation. But since it was only front-wheel-drive, it couldn’t be driven on unpaved roads with the same confidence level as a proper SUV.
