Having a pickup-truck is not all about work.
And, when the work is done, those three extra seats in the rear may be filled with family and friends for a long trip. The 2013 Silverado 3500 Crew cab is the Chevy 1 ton truck and it’s all about payload, towing, and getting up to 6 passengers inside the cabin.

The long bed allows a convenient install for the fifth-wheel inside and increases the towing capacity up to 7892 kg (17400 pounds), while the conventional towing is up to 5897 kg (13000 pounds).

The Crew cab 3500 HD was available as a 2WD or 4WD and it was built to put construction equipment on a trailer and deliver it right in the middle of the construction site. On the outside, the noticeable hood with two domes along is a main feature of the front design. The multiple headlight unit is made with projector lighting.

Chevrolet claims that the most demanded version is the diesel, even if it was about 10% more expensive over the gasoline sticker price vehicle. The 6.6-liter Duramax unit comes with enough torque to pull a house and, thanks to the engine braking system, it saves the brake pads. It had two options for the final drive: a 4.10:1 and a 3.73:1 ratio. The latter was used for increased towing abilities.

The 2014 Silverado 1500 Crew Cab evolved and promised a better experience for its owners.
Its lineup is mainly built for daily use, for small contractors and entrepreneurs. The optional “towing package” allowed trailers up to 11.500 lbs.

The Silverado 1500 Crew Cab offered plenty of room for five people. It had a choice for different beds in the back, and for the first time in the model’s history, the Crew Cab had the option of a 6‘6” long bed. In the rear, it featured a step sculpted in the bumper for easier access to the bed. Upfront, from the bumper to the hood, the entire grille was chromed. The Silverado Crew 1500 had standard 17” aluminum wheels (on LT trim level) and up to 20” wheels were offered as an option. The 20” light-alloy wheels were standard for the Silverado High Country trim level.

The dashboard was plain and simple, yet it offered some modern technologies such as the infotainment system, which could connect via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. The Silverado 1500 is equipped with electric power steering instead of a hydraulic type.

Under the hood of this half-ton pickup, there were three engine choices: a 4.3-liter V6, a 5.3-liter V8, and a 6.2-liter V8. All of them had direct injection, cylinder deactivation, and variable valve timing, and all of them where modified for better fuel-efficiency. For the 4x4 versions, a Hill Descent Control was available, which worked together with the Auto Grade Braking from the standard 6-speed automatic transmission.

Exactly one century after Chevrolet delivered the first truck in January 1918, the American brand started the deliveries of the 2019 model Silverado.
The new range was shown in December 2017 in Fort Worth, Texas.

Silverado was a completely different line than Colorado, which was a class smaller. Depending on the loading capacity, the Silverado was available in three specs: 1500, 2500, and 3500. 2500 was built for those who are using the truck for daily driving with heavy loads.

The 2019 Silverado 2500 was longer, wider and stronger than its predecessor. The front headlights were smaller, with a styling cue that could resemble the Camaro headlights design. The fenders were enlarged for a stronger visual look. In the back, on the tailgate, the Chevrolet word was embossed into the metal sheet. Bigger, 17” alloy wheels were installed on the truck.

Inside, there was the typical dashboard design, like a wall in front of the front passengers. The instrument cluster featured more information on the six dials and on a small TFT display placed between the speedometer and tachometer. On the center console, the infotainment system featured 4G LTE Wi-Fi connectivity, Apple Car Play, Android Auto, and OnStar safety and security features. For the rear passengers, the room was a little cramped, fit for short journeys to and from the working site. For those who want the truck for family use, the crew-cab would be a better choice.

Under the hood, the Silverado 2500 offered with six engine versions, including new 5.3-liter and 6.2-liter V8s, plus a new inline-six 3.0-liter diesel. The diesel and the 6.2-liter were mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission, while the other versions were equipped with a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

When compare the crew cab vs.
the double cab, it’s clear that the crew version offered a more spacious cabin. Of course, this does come at the expense of a bit of cargo space. This is why most private customers chose crew-cab. It did have less room in the back, but when it comes to pulling a trailer, the standard box can tow more.

Silverado 2500HD models are distinguished by a power dome-style hood, as well as a wide grille with chrome surround and full-width chrome steel front bumper. A lineup of 17- (Dually), 18- and 20-inch wheel/tire combinations are offered.

Inside, the rear seats are offering at least 991 mm (39”) legroom and a maximum of 1049 mm (41.3”), depending on the front seat position. The Crew Cab features a long list of options, depending on the trim level, with technology features including mobile WiFi, USB connectivity, Bluetooth phone connectivity, SiriusXM Satellite Radio, OnStar 9.0 and navigation. There’s also a navigation radio with CD, USB port and an 80-GB hard drive (30 GB available for music), along with heated and cooled front seats available on LTZ models.

The Crew cab is available with a long box, due to an extended wheelbase. While the standard Crew Cab had a 3.9 meter (167.7”) distance between the front and rear axle, the long box had 4.3 meters (167.7”) distance. That is more than some compact cars. In the latter version, the whole length is 6.6 meters (259.1”) compared with the standard box size version that is 6.1 meters (240.2”).

After seven years, the Silverado 1500 evolved and promised a better experience for its owners.
The Silverado lineup is mainly built for daily use, for small contractors and entrepreneurs. It was not built for really heavy trailers or loads, but it can handle well a lot of torture without torturing its owners. The optional “towing package” allows trailers up to 11.500 lbs (5216 kg) for the V8 versions and only 7200 lbs (3265 kg) for the V6.

The regular cab has three-passenger bench seating and enough options to ensure a comfortable ride to and from work. It has a choice of different beds in the back, and the longest is 6‘6” long. In the rear it features a step sculpted in the bumper for easier access to the bed.

Inside, the Chevrolet designers moved the infotainment unit up on the dashboard to be easier to read and reach and made it compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Also, the big buttons and the main commands for HVAC systems have big round knobs so they could be used with a gloved hand. The Silverado 1500 is equipped with electric power steering instead of the old hydraulic type.

Under the hood of this half-ton pickup there are three engine choices: a 4.3-liter V6, a 5.3-liter V8, and a 6.2-liter V8. All of them come with direct injection, cylinder deactivation, and variable valve timing.

More and mode people who are looking for a pickup-truck are looking for an affordable, tough vehicle, but with car-like driving experience.
The 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD promises to have all of these.

The 2013 update brought more styling on the outside and, depending on the trim level, has more chrome and SUV-alike front fascia. The Z71 trim includes 18-inch wheels (optional on LT, standard on LTZ) and unique interior trim, including brushed metal sill plates, a technical finish on interior trim pieces and Z71 graphics on the instrument cluster.

The interior of the Silverado 2500 HD wasn’t upgraded, or at least it doesn’t have noticeable upgrades. Compared with the RAM and Ford models on the same segment, this one looks outdated. The only car-like feature is the infotainment system and some buttons, which are carried over from some of the GM’s brands’ cars.

There is room enough for two people and sometimes three if there is an emergency. The central armrest is big, with two cup-holders and a storage compartment. Underneath the mid-side of the bench-seat is another big storage compartment that can be used as a trunk for personal belongings to not mess them with the stuff in the bed. Overall, it’s a workhorse and, in 4WD versions, could not only tow but also climb, especially if it features the Cummins diesel engine.

The 2014 Silverado 1500 Double Cab evolved and promised a better experience for its owners.
The Silverado lineup is mainly built for daily use, for small contractors and entrepreneurs. The optional “towing package” allowed trailers up to 11.500 lbs.

Just like the Crew Cab, the Silverado 1500 Double Cab offered room for five people . Maybe that’s why it offered up to 5 USB charging ports and a 110v outlet. It had a choice of different beds in the back, and the longest was 6‘6” long. In the rear, it featured a step sculpted in the bumper for easier access to the bed. 2013 2018

The 2013 Silverado 3500 Regular cab is the Chevy 1 ton truck and it’s all about payload and towing.
The regular cab is the one to chose if the number one priority is towing and is meant to be used as a daily work vehicle. It has a robust suspension to keep it up. The long bed allows a convenient install for the fifth-wheel inside and increases the towing capacity up to 8074 kg (17800 pounds), while the conventional towing is up to 5897 kg (13000 pounds).

The Regular cab 3500 HD was available as a 2WD or 4WD and it was built to put construction equipment on a trailer and deliver it right in the middle of the construction site. On the outside, the noticeable hood with two domes along is a main feature of the front design. The multiple headlight unit is made with projector lighting.

The cab is fit for two passengers and the general look inside will show few features. But the good thing is that it took the same interior from its smaller brother, the Silverado 1500, which is more of a daily driver vehicle and less working class.

Chevrolet claims that the most demanded version is the diesel, even if it was about 10% more expensive over the gasoline sticker price vehicle. The 6.6-liter Duramax unit comes with enough torque to pull a house and, thanks to the engine braking system, it saves the brake pads.

2013 2018

The 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD Double cab is a great choice if someone wants room for five or six and a bed to carry loads of working materials or equipment.
When it comes to a four-door pickup, the interior is usually more carefully built since most of the time is not just the working vehicle, but also the family-trip vehicle.

In the upper trim level, such as the Double cab LTZ71, the cabin looks really SUV-like with leather seats, a navigation system, and iPod connectivity. The dashboard looks outdated though even for a 2013 vehicle. The mid-life cycle update was not so obvious on the inside as on the outside.

Under the hood, the standard engine is a V8 gasoline unit but, if the owner plans to tow some heavy trailers, the 6.6-liter Duramax unit is the best choice. That is available even with an exhaust auxiliary brake system that can be enabled from a button on the center console. The 6-speed automatic transmission is fitted as standard on all the 2500 HD range.

The roomy interior also features the power rear window. It is not all the glass, but just a part in the middle of it. It can be useful if some would want to grab something stored in the bed.

Z71 also includes unique 18-inch wheels (optional on LT, standard on LTZ) and unique interior trim, including brushed metal sill plates, a technical finish on interior trim pieces and Z71 graphics on the instrument cluster.

CHEVROLET Silverado 1500 Extended Cab
CHEVROLET Silverado 1500 Extended Cab 2008 2012
2008 2012

After eight years of production, Silverado came on the market with a completely new generation in 2006 as a 2007 model.
It’s true that Ford was still leading the pickup market and kept increasing its leading position, but that didn’t mean that Chevrolet had to throw the towel. The second generation of the Silverado came on the market in 2007, trying to prove that it can do better than its predecessor. Unfortunately, the timing was bad due to the world economic crisis and the first few years were not good for the bow-tie brand and its parent company.

Like its predecessor, the Silverado was available in a few body versions, starting with a chassis-cab and going up to the big crew-cab version. The front fascia was the same for all of them, with a wide chromed horizontal slat in the middle of the grille for the LT trim levels, supporting the bow-tie badge. For the LTZ trim level, that bar and the bumper were in body color. The Extended Cab version featured a pair of doors at the front and sway doors in the back. The bed in the back was available in three sizes of 5.75’ (1752 mm), 6.5’ (1981 mm), and 8’ (2438 mm) on three different wheelbases.

Inside, Chevrolet Silverado offered up to five seating positions, with enough room for the front occupants and decent sized for the rear ones. Like most of the pickup-trucks on the market, it offered a big dashboard, with a steering-column mounted gear-selector for the automatic transmission.

The manufacturer offered the Silverado with a choice of four engines paired as standard to a 4-speed automatic gearbox. It was available either as a 2WD or 4WD.

Chevrolet made its way with the Silverado range with a cab for two in the world of hard-working pickups, named Regular-cab.
True, the Ford F150 was the market leader, and there were slim chances that anyone could take its crown. But both GM and Chrysler had something to offer on the same segment and forced the blue-oval brand to upgrade its best-selling vehicle continually. In 2006, Chevrolet introduced the second generation of the Silverado as a 2007 model year. It was available in three cab versions and four wheelbases.

The front fascia was the same for cab versions, with a wide chromed horizontal slat in the middle of the grille for the LT trim levels, supporting the bow-tie badge. For the LTZ trim level, that bar and the bumper were in body color. The Regular-cab Cab featured two regular doors and two bed sizes: a 5.75’ (1752 mm) and a 6.5’ (3023 mm).

Inside, Chevrolet Silverado Regular-cab offered two seats and a basic interior fitted for a work-truck. For the upper trim levels, it featured leather-seats and wood-trims on the dash. Like most of the pickup-trucks on the market, it offered a big instrument cluster and a steering-column mounted gear-selector for the automatic transmission.

The manufacturer offered the Silverado Crew Cab with a choice of four engines paired as standard to a 4-speed automatic gearbox. It was available with a rear or 4WD.
