Designed at the same time and by the same team that worked on the F8 Tributo Berlinetta, the Ferrari F8 Spider is the latest and most powerful open-top V8 that was born in Maranello since 1977, when the 308 GTS started this lineage.
Not as hardcore as the 488 Pista Spider but a lot sportier than the regular 488 Spider it replaced, the F8 Spider offers a whole new level of open-top performance.

The roadster is significantly more aerodynamic and weighs 20 kilograms less than its predecessor, while the mid-engine V8 offers 50 horsepower more. The twin-turbocharged 3.9-liter V8 from the 488 Spider has been further developed and it now delivers no less than 720 horsepower at 8,000 rpm and a healthy 770 Nm at just 3,250 rpm. Those numbers translate into a rather impressive 185 horsepower per liter of displacement.The extra 50 horsepower come from a redesigned intake, which has been derived from the one fitted on the 488 Challenge. The torque has been increased only by 10 Nm over the 488 Spider mainly for reasons related to the car’s double-clutch transmission from Getrag (now Magna PT), which hasn’t been rated to more than 800 Nm of torque.
