After winning the Drivers’, Manufacturers’ and Teams’ Championship in the DTM in 2004, Audi launched a limited edition for its compact sedan, named A4 DTM Edition.
Despite winning drivers’ championships, or manufacturer’s championships several times in the 20 years of racing in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (German Touring-car Championship) , Audi managed to walk home with all three titles for the first time in 2004. It was a true moment of celebration which couldn’t be missed. So, it did it most properly by introducing a special version, with elements inspired by the race car.

As expected, it wasn’t the low and wide-body from the DTM race-car. It featured a carbon-fiber front lip under the apron. A rear diffuser with a red tow-hook was installed in the back and two 100 mm (3.93”) exhaust tips. A carbon-fiber rear spoiler was installed on the trunk lid. The unique design for the 18” light-alloy wheels completed the car’s sporty image.

The interior was treated with Alcantara leather and carbon-fiber trim elements. The sport-bucket seats were mandatory for someone who would buy a special sporty edition of the A4, a car already known for its handling and performance. But the A4 DTM Edition was something more.

Under the hood, there was an especially tuned engine, which offered almost half the power from a race-ready A4 DTM. It was mated as standard with a 6-speed manual.
