LAND ROVER Discovery Sport 2014 - 2019

Generation Information

Body style: None

Segment: None

It is called the Land Rover Discovery, but it is far from what the Discovery used to be.
Gone are the separate chassis, the V8 engine, and the transfer case with a low range. Now it is just another SUV, which came to replace the older Land Rover Freelander. In 2014, Land Rover launched its first SUV with seven seats in a 5+2 configuration on a footprint no larger than any other 5-seat premium SUV.

Under the hood of the Discovery Sport there are two units available: 2.0-liter gasoline or a 2.2-liter diesel engine. For the transmission, there is a standard 6-speed manual gearbox or a 9-speed automatic. None of them is with a low-range transfer case. Land Rover claims that there is no need for that anymore since all of these engines have enough torque even for off-roading. The all-wheel-drive, all-wheel independent suspension vehicle can wade through 600 mm (2 ft) of water. The approach, departure and breakover angles are 25, 31 and 21 degrees, respectively.

Inside, the Discovery Sport features different options for driving and entertainment. It features high-quality materials and a strong vertical center console graphic to reflect the premium design of the exterior, while the core Discovery value of versatility is evident everywhere. Storage solutions are integrated into the cabin and up to four 12V power points and six USB charging sockets can be specified for all three rows of seating, allowing multiple electronic devices to be charged simultaneously.
